The moment I laid eyes on it I knew
there is life beyond this grave.
I was not meant to be restrained
by my own lament.
These concrete walls only leave one detained
from the freedom to envision a better tomorrow.
I tell you, the dead do rise
to yet an enlightened state
beyond an end of a life once hallowed.
So rest in peace my shadow of despair.
I see light
as my hope takes flight
beyond the zombie stare.
