frozen in time...

Frozen in time
     life has the audacity to be cold to the touch,
          warming up only when covered in blood.
               life given when life is taken away?
                    who decides such anomaly?
Frozen in time
     life is thawed, only to be quickly eaten.
          barely enjoyed, raw morsels, devoured in red wine.
               rat infested corridors embellish
                    a strong sent of dirty, wet schemes.
 Frozen in time
     life is buried in space meant for soulful reflection,
           humane disposition, abandoned years ago -
                no more rhythm or rime, forgotten melody;
                     the infant's voice and imagination silenced.
Frozen in time
     life is a loitering gumption with persistent sufferance
          a disfigured sequence of chilling illusions -
               believed, overvalued, in the end, quickly discarded;
                    dangerously eating our young...
