Attitude and Activity...
Two determining forces chosen each day;
Some wisely, others whimsically and foolishly.
Burden of proof is in the end - of the day that is.
Tomorrow, the choosing recycles;
Rekindling the potential to succeed or fail.
A dead man need not worry;
Chance has slipped away, sleeping in an eternal cradle.
Life's Attitude is all but now a memory in the grave,
and Life's Activity has ended, resigning itself to photos on display.
But breath still lingers in the living;
A gift so precious the mind neglects to pay,
attention that is;
Concerning the opportunity to simply choose,
Attitude and Activity each day.
With creative power so strong,
these two choices can be best friend;
Or mortal enemy.
Not one living soul is exempt from this principle;
Yet we long at times it wasn't so simple.
Life as we know it, is the outcome of choices each day.
If life is so grey, why did I choose it today?
And if it's predestined, somehow out of my hands, to fail this day,
why the hell live it, no matter the pay?
Perhaps the answer is not so distant;
The end is always determined by the means,
isn't it?
There's more power than we give credit in our choosing;
The all-to-common mistake of elevating trouble and trying circumstance,
as if they are powerful agents that define one's destiny.
Not so, says the winner;
Success has always been one, perhaps two, choices away.
