down river...

I found me a river
running cold and fast,
carrying with it
rubble from the past;
with current strong and steady
and rocks finest edge.
What flows down this river
always finds a new place to land.

Baptize me in this river;
Feet first, lying back,
exhaustively holding onto
the rubble from my past.
With current strong and steady,
and hardships finest edge;
I'll float down this river,
discover a new place to stand.

Friends say hope will float down there,
where regrets and sorrow sink to rivers bed.
Love will find me waiting down river,
where the pure waters flow.
Time will tell what's waiting for me;
When all this weight is lifted,
and the old me is dead.
